A core element of therapy is containment; providing a place where clients can express their emotions without being overwhelmed by them.
I am currently a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#11925). In addition, I have applied for registration with the College of Psychologists of BC.
My approach to individual therapy is to provide a safe place for clients to express themselves and explore what’s not working in their lives. It is a supportive and non-judgmental environment that encourages you to be gentle with yourself and curious. From this place, you can more easily reflect on your true thoughts and feelings and develop insight as to what would help you feel better.
I provide individual therapy within a number of areas. My experience includes, but is not limited to helping clients deal with:
Grief and loss
Suicidal ideation and behaviour
A history of trauma or abuse
My approach in couples’ therapy is to provide an environment where both partners feel comfortable, heard, and respected. Acknowledging that a relationship needs help can make people feel vulnerable. When working with couples, I’m mindful of this and the need to create a safe place where couples can explore their relationship in a more authentic way.
I provide couples therapy with a focus on:
Helping couples unsure of the future of their relationship.
Improving communication between couples.
Fostering a better understanding of each other’s needs and perspectives.
Enhancing the emotional connection in a relationship.
On occasion, I provide group talks or workshop on mindfulness and relaxation.
In general, appointments can be booked for either daytime or evening hours. Therapy sessions are 60 minutes, although 90min sessions are available as well.
Individual therapy - $180/hr
Couples therapy - $200/hr
